Wrestling Military Appreciation Night and SR Night

> Our Wrestling team and JROTC Program would like to invite you and your families to a night of JROTC drill and Cardinal Wrestling.

Spring Play

> This year's spring play will be Get Smart! Auditions for the show will be today from 6:00 to 9:00 in Cardinal Theatre and Tomorrow from 3:00 to 6:00, also in Cardinal. Anyone interested needs to pick up an audition packet and a parent MUST sign it in order to audition. Remember, you do not have to currently be in a theatre class to audition. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Sumler.

Attention current 10th and 11th graders!!!

Missouri State University is hosting the 3 week summer academy  2012 Missouri Innovation Academy. June 10th -June 30th.

$1,500 tuitiion  includes housing, meals, activities, materials, supplies

Financial need bases scholarshiops are availale.

Should be interested in science, technology, business, engineering, leadership and entrepreneurship.

You must live in Missouri.
You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or be in the upper half of your class. (Students who do not meet this requirement but show exceptional promise in math, science, business or technology may be considered based on recommendations from 2 teachers and/or community members in those fields) 

Fifty students will be selected to attend this summer's academy.  If the student does not receiive a financial need based scholarship, a $250 deposit will due in April.

Contact Mrs. Terry Rose as soon as possible if you are interested.  The application is lengthy and is due Feb. 15, 2012.

Interested in a healthcare career?

The Southwest Missouri Area Health Education Center (SWMO AHEC) will be hosting an ACES (AHEC Career Enhancement Scholars) "Jumpstart" for all high school students interested in health care careers.  This event is open to high school and undergraduate students and any prospective ACES participants.  The event will be held on Saturday February 25, 2012 from 8:30am - 3:30pm.  
 
The event highlights include:
A hands-on practice lab featuring vital signs and assessments
Guest Speakers in health professions
Health career exploration
Online healthcare skill building
ACES informational session for students and parents
 
Please RSVP by Friday February 17, 2012 at 5 pm to attend! Cost of the event is $30.00- which includes a 7 hour workshop, a key to online modules, and lunch.

Spring Play

> There will be an open read through for the Spring Play "Get Smart" in Cardinal Theatre @ 3:00 on Thursday, January 26th. Anyone interested in the spring play may attend. Auditions for the Spring Play will be next Monday and Tuesday. Audition packets can be located by Mrs. Sumler's office, Mrs. O'banion's room, Mr. Eden's room, and on the theatre bulletin board.

Sophomores - Caesar (Togas - wear toga OVER appropriate school clothing)

There will be a homecoming assembly next Friday afternoon during w4.

The Homecoming Dance will be held from 9:30-11:30 p.m. on Friday night in the commons area. The theme is Fab/Shab. Tickets are $3 each and will be for sale next week during white day lunches and after school. All out-of-school dates must be approved by Wednesday--pick up forms for this in the main office.
